Attorney Matt Abdo, is the Owner of Abdo Law, with his father, Cy. As a litigator, Matt provides deft touch on legal complexities inside and outside the courtroom. Matt’s unmatched compassion with clients and masterful preparation for cases has earned him his reputation as both a talented and thoughtful advocate.
Matt was raised and mentored by one of the state’s leaders in criminal law, Cy Abdo, his father. In 2010, Matt and Cy formed Abdo Law. Through continuing legal education, client-centered practices and a commitment to cutting-edge advocacy, Abdo Law has become one of Macomb County’s Top Defense firms.
In under 10 years of practice, Matt has had over 5,000 appearances on criminal and license matters. Matthew Abdo exclusively focuses on criminal law, with specializations in OWI/OUID cases, assault litigation, as well as running Abdo Law’s license restoration practice. Matt has bench and jury trial experience in District and Circuit Court. In terms of MIOWIA, Matt has used his continuing legal education and mentorship to successfully have a multitude of drunk driving charges dismissed.
In terms of industry recognition, Matt Abdo has been named a SuperLawyers Rising Star for four consecutive years. Abdo is peer reviewed by Martindale Hubbel and boasts a pristine 10 rating on AVVO. Matt’s continuing legal education includes frequent seminar attendance through MIOWIA, CDAM, and ICLE. Matt has a NHTSA SFST certification and has attended CDAM’s trial college. Matt will be instructing a seminar at this Spring’s upcoming MIOWIA Seminar on License Restoration cases and how marijuana will affect the landscape of that practice in the future.
